She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Lorain, where she served on the Usher Board and Nurses Guild. She was also a member of The Order of Eastern Star Judea Chapter #1 and the Black River Lodge Elks.
She retired from the Avon Ford Motor Plant, and also worked at U.S. Steel. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her son, Harold (Martha) Jackson of Lorain, and daughter, Odean (Ronald) Kato of Lorain; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter Jackson of Lorain; many nieces and nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Flanders; her parents, Tom and Mary (nee McDonald ) Jackson; her brothers, Eddie, Joe, Clyde, Clarence, Vernel Jackson and her sisters, Roberta Grey, and Estella Turner.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 22, 2014, from 2 until 4 and 6 until 9 P.M., at Friendship Baptist Church, 2160 Reeves Ave., in Lorain, where Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11 A.M., with The Reverend John R. Jackson, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
