Theresa M. Weber

Weber_TheresaTheresa M. Weber (nee Herold), 87, of Elyria, formerly of Port St. Lucie, Florida and recent resident of the Abbewood, passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center, following a short illness. She was born September 20, 1926.

She graduated from Elyria High School and resided there for over 40 years. She was wife and mother of seven children. In 1970, she and family moved to Coral Springs, Florida where she lived for over 20 years. She worked at Nova University in the Registrar’s Office and was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. She retired to Port. St. Lucie and was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church where she continued to be active in CCW (Council of Catholic Women) Ministries. Her life was living testimony of her love for the Lord. Theresa had a generous and kind heart and was an avid volunteer well into her 80′s, helping families and children. She cherished spending time with her family, especially grandchildren and friends. She was an avid Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fan. She also enjoyed family trips, reading, theatre, bowling, baking, gardening and was formidable card player.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen L. Ponting (Harry) of Elyria, Julie A. Conley (Ron) of Marietta, Georgia; five sons, Michael A. (Marilyn) of Wellington, Craig F. of Elyria, Jeffrey E. (Susan) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Kevin T. (Janet) of Delray Beach, Florida, Brian J. (Regina) of Port St. Lucie, Florida; additional survivors include 12 grandchildren: Cyndi, Michael, Mathew, Ryan, Erin, Jason, Jonathan, Justin, Adam, Robert, Jordan, Evan; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Theresa was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John A.; her parents, Anna (nee Esch) and Andrew Herold; two sisters, Mary Rainey, Margaret Skeels-Wilhelm; two brothers, Hubert and Joseph Herold.

In lieu of visitation, there will be a Memorial Mass scheduled at 10 A.M., Saturday, September 20, 2014 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar St., Elyria, where Reverend Father Frank P. Kosem, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at a later date at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

Memorial contributions in Theresa’s memory can be sent to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, Wm. Black Medical Research Center, 710 W. 168th St., NY, NY 10032 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
