Lorain police advise resident against overnight frozen chicken sales

LORAIN – The attempted early morning frozen chicken sale may have just been a front.

A woman called police around 7:30 a.m. Friday after she woke up to find a green lunch bag with her social security card and credit cards missing from her unlocked car.

The woman told police the bag went missing after a suspicious incident earlier that morning when her neighbor knocked on her door around 1 a.m. and tried to sell her frozen chicken. The woman told her neighbor to leave and went back to sleep, according to the report.

After her bag was missing from her car the next morning, the woman confronted her neighbor who denied knowing anything about the theft, according to police.

Unable to find any evidence pointing to the woman’s neighbor as the thief, police warned the neighbor that selling chicken door-to-door at 1 a.m. is “not the best idea,” and filed a report.

Who leaves their ss & credit cards in a car??? It always amazes me when ppl say they got money and/or expensive devices (computers, etc) stolen from their vehicles. Dummies!

And in a lunch bag instead of a purse. And only a crack head goes around trying to sell food from their freezer in the middle of the night. Or any time of the day for that matter. SMH

Police should have advise the complainant not to leave those things in an unlocked car! Frozen chicken sales at 1 am…um, that’s just weird!
