Douglas D. Deshuk

Douglas D. Deshuk, 49, of Dublin, died suddenly at his home Friday, August 22, 2014. Born in Lorain, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Media Communications from the University of Akron, where he was a four year letterman in Cross Country and Track.

His passion was Track and but loved all sports. He was inducted into The Firelands Athletic Hall of Fame. He was a state champion in cross country and state runner-up in 4 X 800 in track. Owner operator of Dublin Turf Surfers. Doug was very thankful for the close relationships he made with his many clients. Doug was very involved with his children’s accomplishments in sports. He was very active with Hilliard Darby Track and Football and a very proud father of his children.

Deeply mourned by the love of his life Jacqueline; children, Drew and Danielle Deshuk; siblings, Tim Deshuk of Amherst, Cynthia (Kevin) Pritt of Wellington; aunts and uncles, Molly Kelly, Bill Kelly, David O’Connor, Patty Orosz, Dave Orosz, Ron Deshuk, Ann Deshuk; nieces and nephews, Katrina, Tia and Dominic; his two devoted and loyal dogs, Daphne and Darcy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Deshuk; mother, Carolyn Deshuk; brother, Donald Deshuk; and aunt, Susan Deshuk.

Family will receive friends Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 P.M. at the Rutherford Funeral Home at Powell, 450 West Olentangy St. (Powell Rd./St. Rt. 750/1/4 mile East of Sawmill Pkwy), Powell, OH 43065. A Funeral Service will be held at 7 P.M. in the funeral home, with Reverend Rob Fulton officiating.
