Teen struck by car at Lorain intersection

LORAIN — A 14-year-old boy was seriously injured after being struck by a car at the intersection of Tower Boulevard and Washington Avenue about 6:05 p.m. Wednesday.

The boy was knocked unconscious and suffered a broken arm and leg, said Herb de la Porte, LifeCare Ambulance vice president. The driver wasn’t seriously injured.

Police didn’t return calls Wednesday night regarding the identity of the boy and other crash details. A report on the crash was not completed, according to a police dispatcher. A fire department report said the car also struck a utility pole.
