AVON – City utility department crews are working on fixing a 12-inch water main break on Colorado Avenue.
Crews are excavating the area to see what the problem is and if the water main can be repaired with a clamp versus cutting, according to Anthony Lorenzo, superintendent of utilities. He said the repair could take four to six hours if it is a simple fix involving no cutting, or longer if the water main requires cutting.
Water will be off from Harvest Drive north to Bridge Point Trail while the work is done, and Colorado Avenue will be restricted to one-lane traffic within that area.
Lorenzo said no boil alerts are being issued at this time.
