Sylvia Ott (nee Gillingham), 80, of Elyria, died Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain, following a long illness. Mrs. Ott was born in Newport, South Wales in the United Kingdom on March 19, 1934 and lived in Elyria for most of her life.
She was employed as a supervisor at Tappan and was a member of the North Eaton Christian Church. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, watching sports and especially time spent with her family.
She is survived by four daughters, Lorraine Roach, Stephanie Martin and Barb Glass, all of Elyria and Judy Nickells of Minnesota; two sons, Wayne Glass and Delmar (Toni) Ott, Jr. both of Elyria; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar V. Ott, Sr. in 2010; two sons, Thomas Ott in 2002 and Steve Glass in 2014; two grandsons, Stevie Hill and Brandon Glass; and her parents, Albert C. and Margaret A. (nee Davies) Gillingham.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Saturday, August 30, 2014 from 11 A.M. until the time of services in the funeral home at 12:15 P.M. The Reverend Charles Butcher, Pastor of North Eaton Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
