Man accused of filming his daughter showering

VERMILION – A man who may have set up a camera system to watch his daughter showering denied any knowledge of the crime, according to police.

The 50-year-old Vermilion man, whose name is being withheld to protect the identity of his daughter, was charged with voyeurism on Thursday at his home after his wife found a suspicious document on a flash drive under his bed.

The wife told police she started looking for evidence Thursday because she thought her husband might be cheating on her, according to a police report.

That’s when she found a flash drive in a box in the bedroom she and her husband shared. On the flash drive, a document titled “a little look,” described how the husband had made a “peephole” in the family bathroom to watch his 20-year-old daughter showering, according to the report. After creating the “peephole,” the man set up a camera system in the bathroom to record his daughter, according to the report.

The man’s wife searched the bathroom where she found a hidden camera system in a light fixture, police said. On the flash drive, she found nude photos of her daughter in the bathroom, according to police.

Police took the camera and flash drive as evidence and arrested the man when he returned home from work Thursday evening, according to the report.

He denied knowing anything about the camera and refused to answer more questions after police confronted him with the flash drive document.

The man was taken to Lorain County Jail, where he was held without bond Friday. His next court appearance is on Tuesday at Vermilion Municipal Court.
