Ring_JosephOBIT FLAGJoseph John Ring I, 76, of Sheffield Lake, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 30,2014 at St. John Westshore Hospital in Westlake. He was born September 21, 1937 in Cleveland and was a 1955 graduate of John Marshall High School.

Joseph worked for General Motors for 47 years as a Machine Repairman and also taught math at General Motors to some of the employees until his retirement. He served his Country as a United States Marine. Joseph was a member of NRA and UAW Local 1005. Joseph loved golfing and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Frances (nee Browning); daughter, Kimberly A. Ring (Rick) of Spencer; son, Joseph J. Ring II (Chelle) of Globe, Arizona; sister, Kay (Leonard ) Tarone; grandchildren, Kayla, Thomas, Frances, Matthew, Joseph III, Nathaniel and Christian; great-grandson, James; nephews, John, Robert, Frank and Eric.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Daniel Ring and Theresa (nee Levy); sister, Frances Wagner.

Family will receive friends 4 to 7 P.M., Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria, (440) 322-4626, where closing prayers will be at 7 P.M. in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 A.M., Friday, September 5, 2014 at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Ave., Elyria (please meet at the church). Reverend Father Charles Diedrick will be the Celebrant. Internment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Cleveland, where full military honors will be provided by VFW post #1079.
