Harvey K. Pratt, Jr.

Pratt_HarveyOn Sunday, August 31, 2014, Harvey K. Pratt, Jr. passed away at 45 years old. Born March 29 1969, Harvey, always a man of God, passed onto glory with the same easy grace and peaceful spirt that he lived his life and fought his short, but courageous battle with ALS.

A native of Oberlin, Harvey attended Oberlin High School, where he shared laughter and adventures with the many dear friends he made there and where he met the love of his life and eventual wife, Nickole Supers. Marrying young and building a life together, Harvey and Nickole have loved deeply and passionately; always making time for hand holding, putting friends and family above work, choosing love and emotional bounty over the material.

Harvey is survived by his loving mother, Allie May Cline of Oberlin; his sister, Mari (living in Boston); brother, Jim of Amherst; wonderful wife, Nickole; their children, Olivia and Daniel and the rest of the Pratt and Supers families. There will be a memorial honoring Harvey Friday, September 5, 2014, 5 until 8 P.M. visitation with family and then a service 8 until 9 P.M., at House of Praise International, 4321 Elyria Ave., Lorain (440) 233-6433. Any who would like to attend are welcome and those who cannot are thought of with Love and Blessings. If anyone wishes to send flowers or refreshments can be sent directly to the church.

In honor of Harvey Pratt, Jr.’s life, there will be a bench placed along the picnic pines portion of the Buckeye Trail at Findley State Park in Wellington. Rather than going to a cemetery, if you wish to spend time communing with the spirit, Harvey wishes you to do so there in the quiet grace of nature, surrounded by God’s blessed creation.

Prayers and Condolences to the family. I didn’t know him personally but heard he was a great man. He put a face to ALS to many of people in Oberlin.
