LORAIN -- Four people were displaced by a house fire Thursday night.
Crews responded at 10:47 p.m. at 1108 W. 2nd St. Upon arrival, they observed flames coming from a second-floor window, attic and front porch, according to Lorain Assistant Fire Chief Roy Cochran.
Two adults and two teenagers escaped the home without injury before crews arrived, Cochran said. Firefighters rescued a dog from the house. The dog was not harmed and was returned to the homeowner.
The fire was under control by 11:27 p.m., Cochran said.
Fire officials estimated $20,000 worth of damage. The residents were referred to the Lorain County Red Cross for assistance.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Lorain Fire Marshal.
