GRAFTON TWP. — The fire at a home at 38201 state Route 303 in Grafton Township on Tuesday caused no injuries but destroyed the home, according to Fire Chief Bob Richards.
Richards said Wednesday that the fire, called in at 1:38 p.m. Tuesday, was contained about 3:30 p.m. Richards said a homeowner called 911 about the fire and the 1,784-square, foot, one-story home and a camper were ablaze when firefighters arrived around 1:45 p.m. Firefighters, assisted by colleagues from Carlisle and Eaton townships and LaGrange, extinguished the blaze around 6:30 p.m.
Three people were displaced in the fire and received temporary housing assistance from the American Red Cross Lorain County chapter. Richards said the cause of the fire and where it started are undetermined. He didn’t have a damage estimate for the house, which has a total market value was $137,700, according to the Lorain County Auditor’s website.
