LORAIN — A young girl told police she was walking home from school when a man driving by stopped, backed up his car and opened the passenger door in front of her.
About 4 p.m. Tuesday, police arrived at the 700 block of E Street where they spoke with Rachel Rodriguez and her 9-year-old daughter. The daughter told police that her school bus dropped her off at the intersection of Florida Avenue and E Street about 3:45 p.m.
She said she started walking home when a small red Ford truck drove by. The driver, who she described as a younger, white or light-skinned Hispanic man with short hair and sunglasses, tried to open the passenger’s side door, according to the report.
The girl told police when she saw what he was doing, she ran home and told her mother.
Police were unable to find the vehicle.
