AVON LAKE — One of two pit bull mixes shot by police Friday afternoon following an attack on a third dog was said to be recovering at a local animal clinic.
An Avon Lake police dispatcher said Saturday night that the mixed-breed dog was alive, but the animal’s condition was not known.
The dog was taken to the Avon Lake Animal Clinic following the shooting, which occurred at 5:15 p.m. at a residence in the 100 block of Lear Road.
No further information was available from police Saturday, including the name or medical condition of the person who allegedly was bitten twice on the leg.
An updated report would be forthcoming, police said.
A call to the Avon Lake Animal Clinic was answered by hospital personnel who declined comment.
The pit bull mix is being cared for by Dr. Jim Haddad, the woman said.
Haddad was not available.
