Update 2 p.m.: LAGRANGE – The LaGrange Police and Lorain County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a shooting that followed a domestic dispute.
LaGrange Police Chief Chad Duensing said officers and deputies were dispatched around 1 a.m. to 225 W. Main St. for a possible shooting.
When they arrived on scene, officers found an injured man inside the home.
Duensing said a man and woman had been at a local establishment when a domestic situation occurred. The situation continued when they returned home.
“A round was fired, striking him in the chest,” Duensing said.
Duensing said he is not releasing the name of the man because it is part of the ongoing investigation.
He confirmed the man was flown by medical helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland and was in critical but stable condition.
Police charged Tanya Estepp, 42, of LaGrange, with felonious assault. She is being held at the Lorain County Jail.
8 a.m.: The LaGrange Police and the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an overnight shooting.
Police and sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to 225 W. Main St. for a possible shooting early Wednesday morning, according to the police department.
When they arrived on scene, officers found an injured male inside. He was treated before being flown by medical helicopter to MetroHealthMedicalCenter in Cleveland, according to the police department. His identity has not been released, so information on his condition is not available.
A female was taken into custody.
The Crime Scene Unit was at the house on Wednesday morning, and the incident is under investigation.
