LORAIN — A 20-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen Sunday.
About 3:45 p.m., police said officers were called to 1662 E. 30th St. regarding a stabbing. The unidentified man was seriously injured and taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center, said Herb de la Porte, LifeCare Ambulance vice president.
A police report on the stabbing was unavailable Sunday night, but acting police spokesman Detective Sgt. Buddy Sivert said the man’s wounds were not life-threatening. Sivert said the man was uncooperative with police, but told Mercy personnel a cousin stabbed him.
It was unclear where the stabbing occurred. No one answered the door at 1662 E. 30th when The Chronicle-Telegram visited about 4:30 p.m. The home is between Globe Avenue and Vine Street in south Lorain.
A few neighbors said the man, whose name they didn’t know, had been stabbed in the neighborhood and came to 1662 E. 30th for help. They were uncertain whether he lives in the home, but said he often skateboards on the street outside it.
Neighbor Ilianis Perez said she saw the man being escorted by police but walking under his own power and holding a towel to his abdomen. “He was pretty calm,” she said.
