Beth Platte became the wife of Andrew Hoover, Saturday, August 3, 2013. Rev. Sean Hogan, C.S.Sp. officiated the after - noon ceremony at Duquesne University Chapel of the Holy Spirit.
The wedding party included the bride’s sisters, Katie Swartzlander, Matron of Honor and Ellie Platte, Maid of Honor. Also attending the couple were Melanie Gluscic, Samantha McDermott, Sarah Kehr and Molly Hanlon as Bridesmaids; Abigail Bindus, Junior Bridesmaid; and Madison Bindus and Samantha Gorney as Flower Girls. The groom’s brother, David Hoover, served as Best Man; and the bride’s brother, Rob Platte, along with Phil Basciano, Ben Pollock, Josh Kaback, Matt Wickline and Phil Swartzlander were Groomsmen. Family and friends celebrated at the Double Tree Hotel in Green Tree, Pennsylvania.
The couple honeymooned in Jamaica.
They will reside in Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania.
Beth is the daughter of Greg and Peggy Platte of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania. She is a 2007 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School and a 2011 graduate of Duquesne University, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is a Registered Nurse at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania.
Andrew is the son of Thomas and Lee Ann Hoover of Elyria. He is a 2005 graduate of Elyria Catholic High School and a 2009 graduate of Duquesne University, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Finance. He is a Senior Financial Analyst at the H.J. Heinz Company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is also a member of the Duquesne University Alumni Board of Governors.
