Teen says men beat him up, stole his phone

ELYRIA — An Elyria teen told police three men beat him up and stole his cell phone Thursday.

Cody Hade was walking in the area of 600 Lowell Street about 4:15 p.m. when he was attacked, according to a police report.

The men knocked him to the ground and then began kicking and punching him in the head and shoulders and then struck him in the head with an unknown object, he told police.

Officers noted that Hade’s lips were cracked and bleeding.

The men then took his Samsung Galaxy S II cell phone, the report said.

He said his attackers were two black men wearing all black and a Hispanic man wearing khaki pants and a blue hooded sweatshirt.

Hade told police he had recently been speaking to an acquaintance who had been beaten up and robbed, and Hade commented that he had never been assaulted or robbed. Hade told police he suspects the acquaintance might know something about his attack.
