ELYRIA — A mother who had her two young sons in an SUV that rolled over Saturday night confessed to police she shouldn’t have been drinking before she got behind the wheel, a police report said.
Police were sent to the 1600 block of Middle Avenue about 10:15 p.m.
When they arrived, police found no one inside an SUV that was on its roof, reports said.
After locating Jenessa Eller, 30, of Stow, the driver of the vehicle, a few minutes later, police learned she first struck a light pole before rolling the vehicle over and onto its top.
The woman had her two sons, ages 10 and 7, with her at the time of the crash.
No one was injured, according to police.
Eller readily admitted she was driving drunk and should not have been driving, police said.
Police said the woman held onto her sons to steady her balance as she walked.
Eller was charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated and two counts of endangering children.
