Crack in track has train blocking Walker Road in Avon Lake

AVON LAKE — A stopped coal train on Walker Road between Avondale and Miller roads is expected to cause traffic delays until about 4 p.m. today.

The train, which has at least 10 cars, stopped due to a cracked rail around 4:05 p.m. Thursday, according to a police dispatcher.

The train was moved between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., but the rail remains cracked. Drivers are advised to detour on Lake and Miller roads.
