7:23 p.m. — 1000 Chestnut Commons Drive, Walmart Supercenter, Jeremy Krugman, 25, Grafton, charged with theft-shoplifting. Store security said Krugman walked into the store with two empty shopping bags, walked to the DVD aisle, placed 13 DVD valued at $446 into the bags and attempted to walk out of the store.
7:54 p.m. — 400 block Lake Ave., Family Dollar, Rachel E. Wysocky, 44, Lorain, charged with theft-shoplifting. Police said she walked into the store and attempted to take chips, a bottle of soda and chocolate nuts without paying.
9:01 p.m. — 200 block Market Drive, Target, Timothy P. Bascue, 34, Elyria, charged with theft-shoplifting. Store security said they saw Bascue place four DVD under his clothing and walk out of the store without paying. He got into a car, left the area and was later arrested by police during a traffic stop.
Saturday, Jan. 26
12:05 a.m. — Near state Route 57 and Interstate 90, Ishmel Rivas Jr., 53, Lorain, arrested on three outstanding warrants through the Elyria Municipal Court for contempt of court. He was arrested by Amherst police and transferred to the custody of Elyria.
Sunday, Jan. 27
3:25 p.m. — 800 block Cleveland St., Paul Buell Jr., 34, 100 block Homer St., Elyria, charged with driving with a suspended license, Chasidy Gurley, 36, same address, charged with wrongful entrustment. Police said Buell was driving Gurley’s Jeep Grand Cherokee in circles in a parking lot dragging a child on a sled near patches of concrete. Police said the girl was thrown off the sled and into a pile of snow, but was uninjured.
Monday, Jan. 28
1:10 a.m. — 300 block Park Meadow Drive, resident said she left her apartment around 3:50 p.m. Sunday and when she returned around 1 a.m. Monday, a layer of liquid that appeared to be super glue was on the apartment door and lock making it impossible to open. The woman suspects her neighbor whom she believes is also continually calling her and hanging up. Police advised the woman to contact the prosecutor’s office and she said she would stay at a friend’s home for the night.

7:43 p.m. — 400 block E. 32nd St., a man reported receiving strange text messages from a person who threatened to kill him. The man told police he did not know who the person was, nor did he have any enemies.
Friday, Jan. 25
8:18 p.m. — 1200 block Root Ave., John C. Ruynon, 63, Lorain, arrested on a warrant for domestic violence, resisting arrest and obstructing official business. Ruynon stayed holed up in his home for nearly an hour before finally peacefully surrendering to police.
9:42 p.m. — 3700 block Oberlin Ave., Wayne Blue, 22, Lorain, and Willie Bedell, 29, Lorain, both charged with possession of marijuana. Police spotted both in the parking lot of Mutt and Jeff’s bar seated inside parked cars that were idling. When police made contact with both, a strong smell of marijuana came from the car and plastic baggies of marijuana were found inside the car. Police were at the bar working with the Ohio Department of Liquor Control Investigative unit.
11:32 p.m. — 4600 block Fields Way, Jarred Lucas, 19, same address, arrested and charged with obstructing official business and allowing underage consumption. Police were called to Lucas’ home for a party with underage drinking and found several people under the age of 21 and 18 at the party who had been drinking. Police said marijuana was also found, but officers could not determine who it belonged to. Police said officers have been called to Lucas’ house several times in the past, and Lucas, who lives in the home with only his 17-year-old brother, was uncooperative with police before his arrest.
Sunday, Jan. 27
12:04 a.m. — 1400 block Colorado Ave., Sarah David, 28, Bellevue, arrested and charged with possession of heroin. Derek Kinderman, 25, 100 block of Ridge Road, arrested and charged with drug paraphernalia and possession of heroin. Police arrested the two during a traffic stop, and police said David tried to hide heroin under her tongue.
8:21 a.m. — 1300 block Danley Square, a man reported that his vehicle had been stolen, and he believed the car was taken by a man who had been at a party with him that night. Police spoke with the suspect, who denied taking the car, but police said the man’s shoes matched footprints by where the car had been. No arrests were made at the time of the report.
8:51 a.m. — 3900 block Globe Ave., McCauley Giglio, 19, 1300 block Danley Square, arrested and charged with DUI. Police were sent to the scene of a crash in which a vehicle was in a ditch. Police said Giglio, the driver of the car, admitted to drinking that night.
11:52 a.m. — 3300 block Reid Ave., a woman reported that four of her vehicle’s tires were slashed. She believed the damaged was caused by her friend’s boyfriend, who she said was upset she was “going out with his baby mama.” Police couldn’t find information on the suspect, as there were several men with the same name.
1:03 p.m. — 2800 block Homewood Drive, reported damage to a steering column and the ignition of a vehicle. A digital clock, pre-paid cell phone and $15 in cash were also taken from the vehicle.
3:15 p.m. — West 17th Street and Washington Avenue, a boy was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct by taunting. The boy, who was under the age of 18, was allegedly “throwing up gang signs” and showing his middle finger to police. Police said the boy then spit at an officer, and his face was covered the hood on his sweatshirt by an officer, who tried to avoid being spit on.
11:39 p.m. — Maurice Jones, 56, 1700 block Long Ave., arrested and charged with domestic violence. A woman told police she saw Jones punch her mother in the face. Police found visible injuries on the victim, but she refused to cooperate with police.
Monday, Jan. 28
4:25 a.m. — 400 block W. 23rd St., police were sent to a woman’s home after a man she sold drugs to allegedly threw a rock through her window. Police stopped the man at McDonald’s on Henderson Drive, where he believed he was meeting with the woman. The man told police he bought what he through were Percocets from the woman, but he later discovered they were aspirin. No arrests were made, but police later learned that the man was driving with a suspended license.
Wednesday, Jan. 23
2:45 p.m. — 2200 block Kresge Drive, Dena Rae Sims arrested and charged with petty theft. Police said Sims stole several items from Giant Eagle.
7:35 p.m. — Spring Street and Park Avenue, Rodolfo Perez-Curet cited for no operator’s license, brake light and license plate light. Maribel Gomez cited for wrongful entrustment.

9:15 a.m. — 4700 block Hollyview Drive, theft of a radar detector from an unlocked vehicle.
Sunday, Jan. 20
2:41 a.m. — 4700 block Idlewood Drive, police investigated a stalking complaint in which a man was allegedly in front of a woman’s residence jumping on her car. At 2:49 a.m., the man called police to say he had been assaulted with a baseball bat by the woman. Police listed no arrests.
Monday, Jan. 21
8:02 a.m. — 4700 block Liberty Ave., report of a counterfeit bill used at Ace Hardware. Police said the bill had been used Sunday, but had not been discovered until Monday.
