NORTH RIDGEVILLE — A Parma Heights man has been arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a North Ridgeville teen after police began investigating a suspicious incident at South Central Park.
North Ridgeville police Patrolman Joe Roth was driving through the park and found the Parma Heights man, 26-year-old Cory Rudo, sitting in the parking lot in a vehicle with a 13-year-old North Ridgeville girl. Roth determined that no crime was taking place, and the girl was turned over to her mother.
Roth and Sgt. Adam Freas began an investigation, however, and discovered that Rudo was meeting both adults and juveniles by using fake Facebook accounts that he created. Police said once Rudo met the people through Facebook, he would exchange nude photographs and videos of himself with them.
Rudo was charged with tampering with evidence, unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, pandering obscenity, importuning, interference with custody and sexual imposition.
Rudo pleaded not guilty to the charges Wednesday, and a $51,000 cash or surety bond was set at Elyria Municipal Court. He was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim and was banned from using social media, according to court records.
Arraignment was set before Judge Lisa A. Locke Graves at 1:30 p.m. April 2.
Anyone who has had contact with Rudo in this manner is asked to call their local police department or patrolman Roth or Sgt. Freas at (440) 327-2191.
