Woman LifeFlighted after rollover crash in Amherst Township

AMHERST TWP. — A woman was LifeFlighted after she crashed into a pole in Amherst Township Monday morning and flipped her van, according to firefighters.

According to the State Highway Patrol, Taylor Cannon, 21, of Elyria had injuries that weren't life threatening.

She crashed her Ford van in the area of 6930 West Ridge Road while driving northbound, and the call came in at 9:37 a.m., according to Northeim and the State Highway Patrol.

Northeim said that the Elyria Township Fire Department was called in to set up the LifeFlight landing zone in a field near the crash site. Cannon was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Northeim said. She is in good condition, a hospital spokeswoman said Monday afternoon, and was likely be released soon.

Neither Northeim nor the Highway Patrol could immediately say what might have caused the crash.

West Ridge Road was closed while troopers investigated the crash.
