Thursday, Aug. 15

10:12 p.m. — 100 block Erie St., Jose Cotto, 48, same address, arrested and charged with domestic violence. Cotto’s wife said Cotto slammed her hand in a drawer and choked her after she threw an ashtray at him. Police said the woman had marks on her neck, knuckles and wrist. Cotto denied the argument was physical.

Friday, Aug. 16

2:42 p.m. — 1800 block Middle Ave., a woman called 911 to report that her boyfriend assaulted her and was outside of her apartment building with a handgun. Officers forcibly entered the apartment and no one was inside. The resident later came to the police station and told police she didn’t call them, but she believed an acquaintance had to cause trouble for her. Police said the call came from a Revol Wireless phone, but officers could not determine who made the call.
