VERMILION — The Vermilion Board of Education has selected an interim treasurer to fill in for the district’s former treasurer, Amy Hendricks.
Hendricks is resigning to take a job at Fairview Park Schools. Her three-year contract will begin there Tuesday.
John Scott will replace Hendricks while the Board of Education searches for a new treasurer. He and Hendricks will work together through Monday to complete the details of the transition, according to a news release from Vermilion Schools.
Scott will officially take the position Tuesday.
Scott began his career in the state auditor’s office, working with school districts and libraries in Cuyahoga, Lake and Lorain counties. After working as an interim treasurer and financial consultant, he accepted the position of treasurer at Cuyahoga Valley JVS and later moved to assistant treasurer at Lorain Schools.
He was named treasurer at Clearview Schools in 2001, where he remained until retiring in February, according to the news release.
Scott and his wife reside in Seven Hills and are co-owners of a small business in Parma Heights.
