Violet "Granny" L. Flint (nee Johnson), 89, of Lorain, died Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home following a brief illness. Mrs. Flint was born October 9, 1917 in Philadelphia, PA and had lived in the Lorain County area since 1956.
She worked at Lorain Community Health Partners in the housekeeping department and had also worked for Herman-Kirchner Furniture Store in Lorain.
She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, and was known by the children of the community as "Granny" and the "Cool Cup Lady."
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Loretta Spencer of Philadelphia, Violet Mason, Brenda Monroe, Virginia Flint, Dora James, and Shari Williams, all of Lorain, and Mary Flint of Buffalo, NY; sons, David C. Flint, Jr. and Frederick Flint, both of Lorain, and Anthony Flint of Fairfax, VA; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Flint was preceded in death by her husband, David C. Flint, Sr.; daughter, Lillian Wilbanks; parents, James and Ethel Johnson; sister, Ethel Wilks; a grandson; and four granddaughters.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 27, 2007 from 7 to 9 P.M. at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Services will be Friday, September 28, 2007 at 11 A.M. at Grace Community Church, 1908 W. 20th St., Elder Allen Gibson, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
