Mary Ann Alleger of Harleysville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home under hospice care, Monday, April 2, 2012. She was born July 12, 1945 in Elyria, the daughter of the late Clarence and Emilia (Post) Haugh.
Mary Ann and her husband Richard were married May 3, 1986 in Westlake, and lived in Grafton before moving to Harleysville in 1999. Mary Ann worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Cleveland and Lorain until 1986, when she left to care for her mother, who was a cancer survivor, and she became a housewife and enjoyed life. In Ohio, she was a member of the Cleveland Hiking Club. In Pennsylvania, she supported the Special Olympics. Mary Ann enjoyed container gardening, wreath making, rug hooking, and plastic canvas projects.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Alleger, with whom she spent the last 30 years. In addition to her husband, Mary Ann is survived by two nephews, Jayson Haugh and his wife, Kerry, of Avon, and Wilson Haugh, Jr. and his wife, Julie, of Lorain; and two great nieces, Anna and Elle, of Avon.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Wilson C. Haugh.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 P.M., Friday, April 6, 2012, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, Pennsylvania, where friends may greet the family after 1 P.M. A reception will follow at Mary Ann and Richard's home.
