He was a 1945 graduate of Camden High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Italy during WWII, and was a member of the Elyria VFW Post #1079. He owned and operated his own farm and worked in construction as a mason at T.J. Hume in Lorain for 35 years and was a 50 year member of the Union. Carl was a member of Magyar Church of Christ in Elyria. He enjoyed traveling and dancing, and was a member of the Westshore Singles in North Olmsted.
He is survived by his children, Mark (Gail) Soboslai of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, Susan Soboslai of Wakeman, Lori (Gary) Lill of Wakeman, Lisa Soboslai of Issaquah, Washington; sister, Irene (Paul) Squires of Oberlin; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his companion of 19 years, Lucille Sich.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Rita; and his parents, Julius and Helen (Pandy) Soboslai.
Friends may call Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 2 to 6 P.M. at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman. There will also be visitation Monday, December 31, 2012, one half hour prior to services at 10:30 A.M., in the funeral home. Pastor Alana Kelley will be officiating. Burial will follow at Wakeman Cemetery.
