Dana Michael Barnes, 31, of Cleveland, died unexpectedly Thursday, February 21, 2013, at MetroHealth Hospital from injuries following a car accident. He was born April 20, 1981. While his death was unexpected, Dana was a registered organ and tissue donor. His death brought life to many other people, which suited his big hearted and giving nature. Dana was raised in Vermilion and attended Vermilion Public Schools with the class of 1999, and became a professional in the culinary arts field. Dana enjoyed spending time with friends and family, visiting the family cottage in Ontario, Canada, and caring for his two devoted dogs, Rebel and Gracie. He was an avid music lover, and talented artist.
Dana was the much loved son of Dan and Mara Barnes of Vermilion; brother of Emily (Ross) McFadden of Fredonia, Wisconsin and Brianne (Scott) Lasch of Jacksonville, Florida; uncle of Arthur McFadden; and fiance of Amy Ottman of Cleveland.
A private family gathering will occur Saturday, and a public Memorial will be held at the Vermilion-on-the-Lake Clubhouse, 3780 Edgewater Blvd., Vermilion, on March 17, 2013, from 4 until 7 P.M.
