Mary Alice Blakely, 86, of Oberlin, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Allen Mercy Hospital, after a short illness. She was born October 23, 1926, in Oberlin.
She worked at the Coop Bookstore for many years. Mary was a member of Rust United Methodust Church and was a former treasurer. She served on the board of the Oberlin Senior Center and enjoyed gardening, crocheting and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her husband, Evans Blakely, Sr., of Oberlin; sons, Gregory C. (Karen) McFarland, Evans (Kate) Blakely Jr., of Columbus; daughter, Garcia C. McFarland, Indianapolis, Indiana; eight grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; brother, Sandy Quinn, Lorain; and sisters, Anna Quinn, Chicago, Illinois, Doris Jordan, Elyria, Betty Thomas, Oberlin, and Bonita Jones, Marietta, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Quinn, and mother, Alice Quinn; brothers, Allen, Jimmy, Albert, Grover Quinn; and sister, Sarah Parker.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 2, 2013, from 9:30 A.M., until the time of services at 10:30 A.M., at Rust United Methodist Church in Oberlin. Reverend Kevin L. Coleman will officiate. Interment will be at Westwood Cemetery.
