Cecelia A. Kerman (nee Semonick), 71, of Avon, died Monday, December 2, 2013, at Cleveland Metro Hospital, of a brief illness. She was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, and lived in Avon since 1969, coming from Cleveland.
She started working at General Electric in Cleveland in the 1960s while putting herself through Cleveland State University, where she earned a master's degree in Business Administration. She was then employed by Lorain County Human Services as a case worker, where she worked for 27 years. At the same time, she also worked for Servicemaster in the cleaning industry. She was an excellent bowler and was in the Lorain County "Bowlers Hall of Fame". She enjoyed fishing, visiting casino's, but especially spending time with family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life.
She is survived by one son, Edward J., (Margaret) Kerman, Jr., of Lorain; six grandchildren, Edward J., III, Ashtan, Richard, Stephanie, Lawrence "Dozer", and Whitney; two great-grandchildren, Lana and Richie; and one sister, Joanne Orslene of Somerset, Pennsylvania.
Friends will be received Friday, December 6, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M., at the Misencik Funeral Home, 36363 Detroit Road, Avon, where a parlor service will be Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 11 A.M. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
