Alice Marie Barnhart (nee Larsen), 92, formerly of Elyria, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Arden Courts of Westlake. She was born July 5, 1921 in Superior, Wisconsin, to August and Ida (nee Wagnild) Larsen.
Alice married William A. Barnhart July 31, 1944 and moved to Elyria in 1964, after living in Wisconsin, Missouri, Germany and France during Bill’s military career. She was employed as office manager at Lorain County Children’s Services, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Altrusa and Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Elyria.
Alice is survived by sons, David (Sally) Barnhart of Ligonier, Pennsylvania, Donald (Debbie) Barnhart of Marietta and Steven (Toni) Barnhart of Avon; three grandsons; six great-grandchildren; and nieces, Beth (Don) Olsen of Superior, Wisconsin and Ann Shumate of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William in 2010; brothers, Oliver and Luther Larsen; and sister, Blanche and Carol.
A Graveside service for the family will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Cleveland.
Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria, is in charge of arrangements.
