Carol Neumann, 85, of Oberlin, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Cleveland Metro Hospital after a short illness. She was born January 11, 2014 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
She was a member of East Oberlin Community Church where she served as past treasurer and on the Board. She worked at Oberlin College at the Treasurers office for a few years. Carol enjoyed crocheting, crafts, baking and was an avid collector.
She is survived by her husband, William E. Neumann of Oberlin; daughters, Nancy (Deny) Blanke of Van Wert, Ohio, Patricia Akers of Kent, Sally Neumann of Akron and Jeanne (George) Clark of Elyria; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and her sister, Sandra Cabra.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Gutman; mother, Pearl Gutman; great grandson, Austin Dull; brothers, Carl and Walt Gutman; and her sisters, Sue Brotz and Betty Winters.
Visitation will be Friday, April 11, 2014 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Cowling Funeral Home, Inc., Oberlin, where funeral services will be Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 11 A.M. Clergy Pastor Andy Call, of First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Westwood Cemetery.
