Dan had lived in the Michigan area since the mid-1970s, coming from Ohio. He worked for Malloys for 24 years and then McNaughten and Gunn for five years, before retiring. He enjoyed antiques, fairs, youth horse shows, rabbits, his morning coffee at the Wolverine, and was an avid Ohio State fan. Dan was Jaycee of the Year in 1978 and also fulfilled his life-long dream of being an auctioneer by attending auctioneer school in Iowa.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Paula (Sadowski) Bieske; his children, Carl (Sandy) Bieske of Tecumseh, Carrie (Keith) Neibauer of Grass Lake, and Susie (Andy) Steele of Ohio; 12 grandchildren, Michael (Christina) Grow, Erin Bieske, Elle Bieske, Kourtney (Ryan) Noll, K.J. Neibauer, Nathan (Crystal) Hallauer, Jessica Wilson, Breann Steele, Dan (Justine) Wilson, Hollie Bieske, Hunter Bieske, and Amanda Bieske; 11 great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Hadley, Harper, Kaylyn, Timmy, Mackenzie, Makaylah, Ava, Zoe, Slater, and Raiden; sister, Sara (Randy) Brlas of Ohio; and his brother-in-law, Bob Stasick of Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol Stasick; son, Chris Bieske; granddaughter, Jennifer Bieske; and great-grandson, Tyler Hallauer.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1 P.M., Sunday, May 18, 2014, at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home in Chelsea, with Chaplain Dave Goldsmith officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, May 17, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M., and Sunday, from 12 Noon until the time of service.
