Edward W. Gottschling, 78, former resident of Lorain County, passed away peacefully at home in Mesa, Arizona, Saturday, August 2, 2014. He was born February 25, 1936, in Birmingham, Ohio, to Steve and Sara Gottschling.
Edward served his country in the U.S. Army, enjoyed camping, fishing, and his family and friends. He was employed by Ridge Tool for 22 years.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, Carl Gottschling; and sisters, Frieda Hutchins, Anna Bungard, and Margaret Grundy.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Deanna (nee Harley) Gottschling; brother, Walter (LaVonne) Gottschling; children, Cynthia (Jeff) Gottschling-McEligot, Sara (Howard) Graff, and Stanley Gottschling; grandchildren, Maretta Kendeigh, Allison Graff, Kenna Graff, Madeline Gottschling and Aven Gottschling; great-grandchildren, Zoe Kendeigh and Jeffrey Montgomery, Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews.
